Cara Cameron is a highly skilled litigator and negotiator trusted by clients with their most challenging commercial disputes, specifically in matters concerning contractual and shareholders’ rights, as well as white collar investigations and defence, commercial fraud, asset tracing and recovery proceedings. Cara has substantial experience in managing large and complex multijurisdictional cases, where success depends on the effective coordination of multi-professional teams.
With more than twenty years of trial and appellate practice, she has achieved many successes in court, including in lengthy trials and urgent proceedings, such as injunctions, civil seizures, Anton Piller (civil search) orders, and asset freezes. She has appeared before all levels of courts, up to the Supreme Court of Canada. She also excels in out-of-court dispute resolution and provides strategic advice on risk mitigation strategies.

Acted for InvestBank PSC in relation to the international enforcement of judgments, asset tracing and recovery in several actions relating to debtors or assets in Canada, including asset-freezing remedies.
Acted for Envergent Technologies LLC, Honeywell Corporation and UOP LLP in their defence of a claim from a customer of more than $40M related to the sale and delivery of industrial equipment for the manufacturing of pyrolysis oil.
Acted for Cast Steel Products (Canada) Ltd. and Cast Steel Products (US) Ltd. (CSP) in connection with their litigation against an independent sales contractor and certain third parties for having illegally appropriated confidential commercially sensitive information.
Acted for Cinar Corporation in an appeal before the Supreme Court of Canada in connection with alleged copyright infringement arising from the production of a children's television show. Successfully argued for substantial reductions in, and the absence of joint and several liability for certain aspect of, the damages awarded by the Superior Court pursuant to the Copyright Act.
Acted for the National Wildlife Federation in litigation before the Superior Court of Québec arising out of the financing and production of IMAX format wildlife films.
Acted for eCycle Solutions Inc. in litigation stemming from an asset purchase agreement that provided for a balance of sale contingent on the nature of the legislation adopted by the province of Québec to govern the Québec Recycler program.
Represented Metso Inc. before the Superior Court in a patent and intellectual property dispute involving the Gaspesia project.
Representing on a pro bono basis seven members of Canada's national artistic swimming teams (formerly called synchronized swimming) in a class action lawsuit brought against their national sporting organization, Canada Artistic Swimming (CAS), for failing to protect them and their fellow athletes from psychological abuse, neglect, and harassment.
Acted for Phi Centre Inc., and others in an action against Giuseppina Mancuso, her husband Bayard Whittall and his related company, Two Monsters Inc.
Acted successfully for Phi Centre Inc., and others as the victims of misappropriation of substantial funds (in excess of $22M) by the Defendant, a former employee, and related parties.
Acted for the University of Melbourne in connection with its defence of a claim of copyright infringement and other civil damages.
Acted for Triumph Aerostructures, LLC, in connection with its dispute with Bombardier Inc. regarding the wing designed and manufactured by Triumph for Bombardier's Global 7000 business aircraft, including a $455M claim filed by Triumph before the Québec Superior Court. The dispute was ultimately resolved to both parties' satisfaction.
Acted on behalf of Cinar Corporation in significant litigation in Canada and elsewhere involving the recovery of in excess of $100M in relation to certain unauthorized transactions effected by past directors and officers of the corporation. This litigation also involved multi-jurisdictional safeguard, asset tracing, enforcement and liquidation proceedings.
Represented a confidential client in an action against a former service provider and software developer who fraudulently appropriated software and other digital data, including valuable proprietary software.
