Matthias Heilke is a commercial and administrative litigator with additional experience in tax litigation. He has represented clients before a wide range of courts, including the Superior Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Federal Court and the Tax Court of Canada, as well as before administrative and arbitral bodies. His civil litigation work has focused on commercial contract disputes, particularly regarding contracts of sale, as well as shareholder disputes and alternative dispute resolution. He also advises clients regarding non-litigious matters, such as regulatory compliance and the drafting of contractual clauses addressing such compliance.
Matthias holds degrees in law and political science from McGill University. In his time as a student, he volunteered at the Legal Information Clinic at McGill and spent several months working with the Center for Health, Human Rights and Development in Uganda on matters concerning the right to health. Prior to joining our team, Matthias articled and practiced litigation at a major national law firm for several years.
